A Day of Remembering

Not a week goes by that I don't have thoughts of my dearest friend, Neva. A smile always pops on my face with warm feelings inside. She has left an imprint on my heart of happiness, love, and compassion. She was a beautiful light of hope in everyone's life who new her.
We often shared laughter and dreams about her past and future, as we went through our journey together. She loved on everyone that crossed her path and always was there for anyone who needed help with anything. I enjoyed the talks we had about the love of her life and sweetheart husband.  They are the perfect example of a loving married couple I have ever met.
She was a special person who had an unfailing love for Jesus and it showed.  Her hope was that knowing her would point the way to heaven for everyone because of the goodness of Jesus Christ in her life.
I remember the twinkle in her eye and the smile on her face when we talked about how beautiful heaven was going to be.
My heart rejoices knowing that I will see her again one day.

Look to heaven, loved ones.

A Day of Remembering begins today, partnering with Rebecca's Recuerda Mi Corazon blog.
Every Sunday we will share stories and pictures remembering our loved ones ending on November 2nd. Come join us by clicking on the dove icon at the bottom right of my blog.

Sometimes I still think of my friend, Candy, who died young, over 25 years ago. Such a tormented woman she was. To this day, when I think of her, I hope she has found peace and rest. I am so happy that you have nothing but good memories of your dear friend.

Thank you for sharing this story. It is heartwarming to know that people can be taken away from us for time, but not for eternity.
